# Generate a brief from a file

## Extracting brief requirements
Instead of manual entry, upload your requirements file (PDF, DOCX, etc.) using `POST /v1/claro/brief/file`. This parses requirements into a structure you can use for searching.

You get back the structured brief, which you then pass to `search_premises` to start your search. The file is never stored.
